Q&A With Harry
In your opinion, how does therapy work?
I firmly believe that one of the most crucial aspects of therapy is the relationship cultivated between patient and therapist. Through my years of receiving therapy, I have frequently encountered a cold, overly clinical demeanor in some practitioners, which inspired me to approach things differently. I share my life experiences because they have granted me access to a profound dimension of humanity, which I bring to every patient I work with. I strive to be genuinely present for my patients while simultaneously maintaining my own boundaries and sense of centeredness.

Any life experiences that have influenced you as a clinician?
I have backpacked throughout the world and learned a lot about myself through travel. I love to engage with all types of people and am a deeply curious person. I find my work as a therapist somewhat similar: I'm learning something about the world of the client, their unique internal terrain, and get to walk with them on the path toward self-exploration and expansion. As both a guide as well as a fellow traveler, this is a deeply rewarding experience.
What is it like working with you?
I make an effort to bring a truly compassionate and grounded presence to every interaction I have with others. Feeling heard is an important emotional need that many don't get met in daily life. I want therapy to be a place to slow down, connect, and grow with someone that’s curious and caring. While we will explore the dark and the depths, I also find that the process can be illuminating and even quite enjoyable.

On a personal note...
I enjoy life's small moments: rainy days, birdsong in the morning, and a cup of coffee. Outside the office, you'll find me reading a good book or practicing yoga and meditation. I especially love spending time with my orange cat, Bobby.
