The Training Institute

at ATX Counseling

Our training institute aims to prepare a new generation of therapists to provide clinical excellence using an Apprenticeship Model. We work to help therapists navigate the transition between graduate programs and real-world clinical care through co-therapy experiences matching you with an experienced clinician in couples, families, group, and individual therapy and allowing you to observe their work in person, virtually, using Outsider Witness, and/or video. We focus on developing therapeutic style, confidence, and the resident's clinical voice using a relational approach, understanding countertransference, studying the therapeutic use of self, and implementing skills and techniques from up-to-date theoretical approaches.  All residents must have a minimum of one year post-graduate clinical experience.

Along with co-therapy experiences, you will work closely with our team and clinical director, attend trainings, study the business side of being a therapist, and receive support from a team of therapists dedicated to learning and growth.

We believe that the current model of helping therapists transition from graduate school does not allow for observing other clinicians at work in the room, and that this experience is the most valuable way to learn.

We also believe that this program should allow for financial stability to optimize learning for the therapists. You will be considered a W2 Staff Therapist recieving 50% of your clinical fee ($125 per individual session/ $150 for family and couples sessions) with opportunities for raises, promotions, and bonuses during your time, we also offer BCBS PPO Health Insurance Policy to full-time clinical staff.
